Gloves. Everything else is negotiable
A short list of what to pack for Córdoba, with the two or three things people wish they had brought and the several they wish they hadn't.

The one thing nobody packs and everybody needs
Leather shooting gloves. Not because it is cold — it is usually not — but because a day here runs to hundreds of cartridges and a bare hand on a hot barrel is a blister by lunchtime and a problem by Wednesday. It is the single most common regret we hear on the second morning.
After that, the honest summary is: layers, something to keep the sun off, and recoil protection if you feel the recoil. The lodge handles the rest — laundry, cleaning, cartridges, the gun if you are hiring one.

The list
What goes in the bag
Treat the right-hand column seriously. Most of it is there because somebody once did without it.
Clothing
- Camouflage or khaki shooting clothes and a hat — dark colours, quiet fabric
- Layers: long-sleeved cotton shirts, a jumper, a fleece. Essential June to August
- Lightweight waterproofs, November to March
- Light or ankle-height boots. Plenty of Guns shoot in trainers
- Gaiters, November to March
- Something comfortable for the evening — jeans and a shirt is the whole dress code
Kit
- Leather shooting gloves
- Shooting glasses, sunglasses, factor 30 or higher, lip balm
- Recoil protection: a shoulder pad, a Kevlar-lined gilet or a padded shirt
- A cartridge bag or belt — though your bird boy will load for you if you would rather
- If bringing your own gun: a lockable travel case, gun oil, and your chokes (modified, improved cylinder or improved-modified)
- Insect repellent for the summer months
- A small medical kit — painkillers, plasters, antiseptic, anything you take regularly
Packing
What Guns ask before they pack
An adaptor yes, a voltage converter no. Argentina runs on 220 volts, near enough the same as home, so British kit works on its own. The plug shape is different, so bring an adaptor. Guests coming from North America need converters, and the lodge keeps some — but that is not your problem.
A great deal in winter. From June to August you can leave the lodge at around four degrees and be shooting in the mid-twenties by mid-afternoon, in still air. That is why the list says layers rather than a coat: you will be taking things off all morning.
Less than you think. There is a laundry at the lodge, dinner has no dress code beyond being comfortable, and the field kit is the same every day. Most people over-pack evening clothes and under-pack gloves and sun protection.
A lockable travel case — stainless steel or heavy-duty fibreglass — plus oil, your chokes and any accessory you are particular about. We keep cleaning rods and patches at the lodge and clean every gun overnight, yours included.
