A lodge of eighteen guests is run by the people in it. Most of ours have been here a long time, which is why guests who come back annually ask after them by name.

Who you will actually meet
There is a version of this page on most lodge websites that lists job titles and says everyone is passionate. Here is the plainer version.
Gustavo built the place, and the level of detail in it is his. JJ and Topo are the hosts — they are the two names that come up unprompted in guests' letters, usually as the reason someone books the same week the following year. César and Juan Cruz are the scouts: they are out looking at ground while you are at breakfast, which is why the drive to the field is what it is.
Then the people you see all day. Your bird boy stays with you through every drive, loads if you want him to, marks what you have taken and finds it. The field team — guides, scouts and drivers — get you there and back. In the kitchen, the cooking is done by people from the area with the local produce; in the house, ten rooms are turned round daily. There is an office team in Córdoba that handles the booking, the transfers and the permits before you ever arrive.
Why it matters
The bird boy is the job most people underestimate
If you have not shot high volume before, this will be the surprise. A bird boy is not a loader in the British sense and not a beater either. He reads the flightline, moves you when the birds change, keeps you in cartridges, marks everything down and picks it up.
A good one is the difference between a fair day and a remarkable one, and it is why the customary tip — around sixty US dollars a day — is worth budgeting for rather than deciding on the last morning.

What guests ask about the team
Yes at the lodge and in the office, and enough in the field for everything that matters. The bird boys work largely by gesture and habit anyway — pointing out a line coming in does not need much of a shared vocabulary.
That is how we run it wherever we can. By the third day he knows how you shoot and where you want to stand, and that is worth more than any amount of instruction.
Around sixty US dollars a day for your bird boy. House staff tips go to the lodge manager and are shared across the whole team. Caps, shirts and shooting kit are appreciated alongside the cash, and travel better than you would think.
