Stalking, and how it fits onto a shooting week
Red deer is the one thing on this site we do not run ourselves. It happens at a mountain lodge in the Córdoba hills, about an hour and a quarter from the airport, with a partner who does nothing else. We handle the booking, the transfers and the week either side of it; they handle the ground.
The stalking is spot and stalk across country that runs from about 1,500 to 5,000 feet — thick forest low down, open valleys above it, and bare tops where a beast can be seen from two or three miles off. Days start at first light and run to midday, when the deer bed down; there is lunch, a siesta that is not optional, and then out again until dark. High seats are set up for anyone shooting a bow, and there are horses for the ground a vehicle will not reach.
Almost nobody comes for this alone. The usual shape is three nights of dove at Sierra Brava, then four full days after red deer, one guide to each rifle, at 6,000 US dollars per Gun.

That is how nearly everyone does it: three nights of dove shooting at Sierra Brava, then four full days after red deer, at 6,000 US dollars per Gun with one guide to each rifle. Transport between the two lodges is included.
No. Rifle hire is 50 US dollars a day and includes ammunition. Bows are welcome too — there are high seats set up for them, though most of the stalking is done on foot.
